Like many recording studios the Trash Treasury started in a basement. It was there that two friends bonded over a mutual love of obscure and broken down keyboards, pianos, organs, and whatever else they could get their hands on. It was in trying to repair these broken oddities that the name “Trash Treasury” seemed appropriate. Though the studio has gone through several iterations since then, it still resides in a basement: a 1200 sq ft space in Portland’s inner SE industrial district. Though we leave most of the repair work to the professionals these days, we feel like the studio still encompasses that “Do It Together” spirit.
