FABOTH - strung out again/smooth lyric misinterpreting

So for about three years now I thought the chorus to strung out again was "I know my friends hate my friends." That completely blew me away all the same. In LA, the lyrics are, "If patience started a band, I’d be her biggest fan." I thought he wrote, "if the bishop started a band, I'd be her biggest fan." I was again aghast Elliott talked about a woman bishop alone, her starting a band to be her biggest fan confused me more. Recently I've taken to reading the lyrics cause I sing them all wrong. How are you all with em?

Elliotts not big on annunciating his words. I keep singing his live versions along to the studio songs too, coz I listen to it all on random and there are so many alternate and live versions that I keep getting the wrong lyrics of the version thats playing. Good example is the either/or demo discs or bled white, memory lane too, coz on all the live versions they punch you in the head, on the studio version they kick you in the head....anyways, apart from that theres still alot of time I can't fully understand him.

I misinterpret a few of the lyrics also, but Most people have that problem only with Cupid's Trick.

"Sugar light/Sugar lit me up/It's my light"

That's what I hear from acoustic live versions.

I dunno, I've not really had much of a problem misinterpreting Elliott's lyrics. I definently think the first two albums are harder to hear though, I mean to me XO, Figure 8 and From A Basement are so well recorded that everything is crystal clear and easy to get.
